FACILITY FOR ARTS AND DRAMA, BLACK PINE CIRCLE SCHOOL, BERKELEY, CA
Built in 1879 as the original Workingman's Library by the Workingman's Club (one of the first political groups in Berkeley), this building was later used by the town board of trustees as a meeting hall. The K to 9th grade school renovated the existing theater and music room of this historic structure as well as adding three classrooms, an office, a reception lobby/gallery, boys' and girls' rooms, and an entry porch with a wheelchair lift.
